![]() May the hand of a friend always be near you. And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you. May you live as long as you want, And never want as long as you live. May you live to be a hundred years, With one extra year to repent! May there be a generation of children On the children of your children. May God grant you many years to live, For sure He must be knowing The earth has angels all too few And heaven is overflowing. |

May love and laughter light your days, and warm your heart and home. May good and faithful friends be yours, wherever you may roam. May peace and plenty bless your world with joy that long endures. May all life's passing seasons bring the best to you and yours! May the blessing of light be on you- light without and light within. May the blessed sunlight shine on you and warm your heart till it glows like a great peat fire. May the blessing of the rain be on you- the soft sweet rain. May it fall upon your spirit so that all the little flowers may spring up, and shed their sweetness on the air. May the blessing of the great rains be on you, may they beat upon your spirit and wash it fair and clean, and leave there many a shining pool where the blue of heaven shines, and sometimes a star. |

"An Irish Lullaby" My mom used to sing me the song you hear playing, when I was a little girl. She has long since gone to join the angels, and every time I hear this song, still, I cry. It is a memory deep inside that I cherish. Below you will find the lyrics. ~Gen(-`: Many years ago, Me Mither sang a song to me In tones so sweet and low. Just a simple little ditty, In her good ould Irish way, And l'd give the world if she could sing That song to me this day. "Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li, Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, hush now, don't you cry! Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li, Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, that's an Irish lullaby." To that cot again, I feel her arms a-huggin' me As when she held me then. And I hear her voice a -hummin' To me as in days of yore, When she used to rock me fast asleep Outside the cabin door. |
